Flying with Emirates

Just got back from headaches + dizziness due to stress and fatigue in packing and giving, selling away my old stuffs which I could not bring with me to Germany. I have only 30 kilos of check-in baggage + 7 kilos for hand-carry baggage. Yesterday while I did not go to work and just stayed home to rest, I could not resist but to arrange my box again and make final decisions as to which dresses, clothes and shoes I must bring. I have only 9 pairs of shoes/sandals/boots in my box out of the 13 pairs shoes left. The other 8 pairs which I have successfully sold to my friends and neighbors were easy for me to let go off since they were not my favorites. I think I would just sell or keep and leave the remaining 4 favorite pairs at home and get them back when I will be coming back - nobody knows when!...or maybe sell them instead!

On the midnight of 23rd August, or better 00:20am of 24th August, I will be flying with Emirates heading to Dubai for almost 4 hours and 15 minutes stop-over then heading to my destination - Hamburg. It will be my first time to fly outside Philippines. Hopefully the stop-over will be a nice short experience for me to be at least in the Dubai International Airport. Heard that it is the world's largest airport. Maybe I will just sit down by the corner, order a Latte Macchiato or a nice Iced Coffee and watch people passing by.

It has been 5 months since I married my ever-sweetest husband...and only ten days more 'til we are in each other's arms again. I will be moving to Germany to live with my husband. A dream come true for both of us. Thinking back (13th March 2008) we've met in an online dating community, we started to communicate with each other everyday since then. We chat, we write emails, we send each other text messages. On that special day we have declared our love for each other, we have never stopped saying these three beautiful words - "I love you." Countless times everyday we say this to each other. Even when we are in a serious conversation via text messaging or chatting, we would insert this line during the conversation. This, I would love to maintain as we grow old together.

My mom sent me Durian pulps in packed plastic ware, containers of Durian jam, a few pieces of Mangosteen and 2 boxes of Chinese vitamins (my colleagues' order for gaining weight, which I have been taking too to gain weight!). She packed the plastic wares with masking tapes, newspapers and bubble wrap to seal the yummy smell (but stinky to others). When Air21 delivered to the office, the smell was already following him. And whenever somebody enters the office, they would react immediately on the smell. Others are not familiar with the smell. Here in Manila, Durian is very expensive. It costs around Php 200-300 per kilo in the grocery. And Manileños are not fond in eating Durian unlike people from Mindanao. I  was born in Zamboanga City (island of Mindanao) and grew up there too. Durian is common and cheap in Zamboanga City. Every year we  do not miss eating it.

My mom planted the Durian seed hmmmm I think if I am not mistaken, 3 years ago. And this year, the tree was budding with almost a hundred of Durian flowers or clusters of them. My mom found out that the fruits when they are bigger, should be tied or supported by a string tied to its branches so it won't fall. The branches are not strong enough to carry the heavy loads of the fruit especially when they grow bigger. Out of a hundred fruits, only 11 survived.

This afternoon, we will be having a Durian jam with pandesal as our afternoon snack in the office. SLURRRPPPPPP...
